Darby L. Poe
Certified Peer Support Specialist & Trauma-Informed Coach
Darby is a State Certified Peer Support Specialist, Trauma-Informed Coach, and Peer Supervisor who works for a 501c3, non-profit Community Mental Health Agency. As a Peer Specialist, Darby serves on a clinical team providing specialized support to children, adolescents and women through a clinically trained, and trauma-informed lens. She as a mental health advisor on the District Community Leadership Team for District #305 and provides on-site mental health support to students and faculty at Lovington Grade School.
Darby's work is rooted in her personal healing journey and she believes wholeheartedly in the power of vulnerability. Utilizing a holistic and trauma-informed approach, she works collaboratively with clients to break barriers of low self-esteem, trauma, shame, chronic illness and relationship wounds. Darby utilizes her personal story to cultivate meaningful connections and provide person-centered support for others as they begin reclaiming their own inner truth.
Darby has a passion for youth advocacy and positive youth development. She is the Co-Founder of a county based organization called Team IMPACT. As a youth-led group, they provide personal care items, resources, and outreach to at-risk youth in Moultrie County. Team IMPACT aims to develop youth leaders, provide peer-led support, and build sustainable community partnerships that empower teens to make a difference within their communities.
In her free time, Darby enjoys gardening, kayaking, baking, creating art and traveling. She resides in rural Sullivan with her husband and three children.
