Rise and Thrive. Are you struggling with positivity because you feel unappreciated? The kids are demanding and expecting, your partner is needy, but not giving, your employer is pushing you harder and no thanks are forthcoming? All of these scenarios are common, yet frustrating. Rise and Thrive, welcome to a fabulous Monday. In my area, it is forecasted to rain today. I would often think about rainy days as days I should be in bed, hiding under the covers. About Me
Carmen Ledesma
Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist ‘ Cannabis Wellness Pioneer & Advocate for the Cannabis-Health Revolution, Harm Reduction Advocate & Participant.
Hello everyone, my name is Carmen Ledesma, my friends call me Carm. I love this motto by Ghandi, ´’Be the change you wish to see in the world. ¨ I hope I can be a beacon of light to someone, anyone out there, and if I can reach one single person, I have done my job. Hope to meet you all real soon.
More about me, I have just celebrated my nine years in Recovery. I am completely passionate about helping people and connecting them with the right resources. I fell in love with the industry through the various positions I held working as a Recovery Coach for a Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health Hospital in my local area. This was the beginning of the end for me. I fell in love with it hard and learned everything I could about harm reduction, opioid use disorder, self-harm, and past traumas and how they show up in people's lives as unresolved issues. I was raised early on knowing that mental health existed and it was not something that you could do anything about it. Fast-forward to current times and I try to learn everything I can about brain health, mental health, addiction recovery, and trauma. It's the only way I know I can be prepared to help the next individual I come in contact with. I look forward to meeting you and I pray that you keep skating the road to a happy destiny. (smile)
