    StraightUpCare.com

    Q: What’s the purpose of a StraightUpCare.com profile/membership?
A: Your membership account serves multiple purposes:
-Consumer-to-Peer Matching: Individuals who are seeking peer support are able to match with peers through our straightupcare.com directory. The matching is based on lived experience, with a consumer able to identify which lived experiences they have and would like to connect with a peer on.
-Peer-to-Peer Connection: Similar to other social media platforms, your membership to straightupcare.com includes the ability to connect with other peer specialists on the platform. This includes:
    —“Friending” other peers
    —Sending messages to peers
—An activity “wall” to share accomplishments and updates
—Access to group forums, such as resource sharing and continuing education events
    —And more to come!

    Q: What’s the purpose of a StraightUpCare.org profile?
A: StraightUpCare.org is the web-based access to the app for delivering services. You will not be able to deliver services through the platform unless you have created your profile.

Q: What should I put in the “About Yourself” section of my app profile?
A: The “About Yourself” section should be brief – the app is where people who have already decided they want to work with you schedule an appointment, it is NOT where they look at your profile to decide if they want to work with you or not. Your about section on straightupcare.com member directory profile should be more detailed as that is where people will find you.

Q: Do I have to create a profile on the app if I already have one on StraightUpCare.com?
A: Yes, the two profiles are different and serve separate purposes. Your StraightUpCare.com profile is part of your membership and provides you access to our peer community and lists you in our member directory for those who visit StraightUpCare.com. Your StraightUpCare.org profile is for delivering services to individuals.

Q: Why didn’t it ask me for a username and password?
A: StraightUpCare.org/the app uses your phone number and the verification code for login.

Q: Why does it ask for my father’s name and my social security number?
A: These are used for security and verification.

Q: What are the size limitations for my StraightUpCare.org profile picture?
A: Profile pictures must be no larger than 1080×1080.

Q: What am I supposed to put in “Experience Information”?
A: This is where you would add any relevant work experience, such as organizations you’ve worked at as a peer specialist.

    StraightUpCare.org/Straight Up Care App

Q: What’s the process for a client to schedule an appointment? Will they just show up on my schedule and I have to constantly check?
A: When someone wants to work with you, you will receive an appointment request via email and phone notification for a specific day/time. You then must go to your pending appointments to accept or decline the request. This will be helpful for when you are unavailable for a day you typically work, when you block certain times/prices for grant recipients, and self-care when you need it!

Q: Can I block dates when setting up your schedule? For example, I’m traveling 1/20-1/23, can I block those days from appearing as options?
A: Currently you cannot block dates. What you can do, though, is decline appointment requests for the days you are unavailable.

    START SD

Q: Does the $30/hr for the START SD grant HAVE to be video, or would audio be acceptable?
A: Video or audio are acceptable for the $30/hr grant rate. As always, take into account the pros and cons of each for connecting with peers.

Q: Is there a way to stop someone who isn’t through the START SD grant from scheduling during the START SD $30/hr slots?
A: Yes. When you receive an appointment request, there will be an indication that the person is part of the START SD grant. If someone without that indication requests an appointment at that time you can choose to decline their request. However, keep in mind that someone may not be able to afford your higher rate, so you may be turning away business. There is no requirement that the $30/hr rate be ONLY for START SD grant recipients.
